Venture Out, Maybe?
Another day, another set up from another friend who thinks they know me.
Except this time, I think she just might know me.
We met at a wine bar in the middle of our neighborhoods. The woman who set us up I’ve only known for a few months, but we’ve spent a lot of time together building a business and have gotten to know each other really well. Did I think she knew me well enough to set me up? I didn’t think so.
I got there before him, I always get there first. I guess it’s my way of making myself feel safe. I ordered a water as he walked through the door. He looked like the instagram photo I saw, but he was shorter than I imagined. I immediately knew he wasn’t my normal physical type. But we hugged, sat down and I ordered a glass of wine right away.
Four glasses of wine, and 5 hours later, we were hugging goodbye, and he was being transparent about the things that could end up being a dealbreaker for some.
Now, normally his deal breakers, are hard deal breakers for me, but this time. I looked at him — thought about the 5 hour conversation we just had. How we joked, laughed, and flirted — maybe I’m being too picky. I mean, it’s something a lot of people can traditionally look past.
