Old Souls
I don’t like the phrase “I’m an old soul“ this may be a controversial statement but I don’t believe old souls exist. The question I posed is this are you an old soul? Or are you just stuck in the past.
A lot of people argue that their souls have been here before and while I believe in that and how that can make somebody feel as they are an old soul, I also believe that there is a fallacy of what was before the media, and that’s where a lot of people live. These old souls are simply living an idealistic view of what they want the world to be the music was good the sitcom‘s were Sitcom-y, and everywhere you go TV producers everywhere are remaking and rebooting shows from the 80’s and 90's as if they can’t come up with anything new.
I was set up by one of my friends, and the first thing he said to me was fair warning I’m an old soul. My first thought was oh boy. We went on about the night and exchanged numbers, had a good time however his dance moves music taste and the way he spoke reminded me of my grandfather which — I don’t want to date. Even on our first date he wore a pair of Stacy Adams and we only went to the movies.
I call out the Stacy Adams because it’s a conversation that I often hear my dad and my grandfather having. It’s a conversation about dress shoes and how they just don’t make them like they used to how the young cats are wearing Jordans to the club when all they really need is a good pair of Stacey‘s. See where I’m going here?
