Men, I Will Not Chase You.
I’m sitting here, in my home that I pay for alone, on the couch that I bought, watching the cable TV that comes out of my account monthly listening to a man tell me over the phone that he is tired of pursuing women and ask what can a woman do for him?
The thrill of the pursuit is honestly gone. Men aren’t pursuing women like they used to and women have gotten so used to being independent that they no longer need men to provide for them. So what draws us to them if we can provide for ourselves? Personality and determination? We’ll never know, since they gave up on the pursuit.
I no longer get asked out on dates, sent good morning texts on a regular basis or taken out in my finest little black dress. The premise of “dating” is long gone in my world and now all men want is to hang out at the house, watch TV and then have sex if they give a the smallest amount of effort.
Effort is sexy.
But I’ll never know what that looks like as a Millenial woman in the age of swiping since it doesn’t take much but a game like app to get someone to talk to you. And in the world of the pandemic, it’s harder to meet people naturally — although I have never really tried.
There is one thing about apps and social media that lets me know one thing for certain, the men in the game not only don’t want to be in the game, they don’t want to play the game. So when they meet someone like me, they have nothing to lose and nothing to play. They leave it up to the woman to decide, text…
