I Don’t Owe You a Conversation Just Because I Post On Social Media.
Slides into DM’s…Hey Beautiful, you busy later?
There is this new phenomenon that you can contact anyone in anyway at anytime — with the help of social media. You no longer need dating apps, cell phone numbers, or permission. Because of this, people think they have you at their own disposal and if you don’t respond or say no, YOU are the ice queen.
Instagram has tripled down on its ability to be all social media platforms in one. The true king of kings. Vanishing messages, disappearing photos, 30 second video clips, 24 hour stories. All sound familiar? It’s TikTok, Snapchat, Facebook all in one. With this, the attention and affection one so desires comes with a risk of instant gratification. This instant gratification turns into instant rejection to some, causing nothing other than a coup of rejectees fighting for their rights to people they have no rights to.
You obviously want attention and I’m giving it to you!
Don’t post it, if you don’t want me to comment on it.
You’re just looking for the stereotypical male gaze. You want nothing more.
How materialistic of you to show off things other people can’t afford.
I know this has been talked about and written about for years now. But what happens when self-validation comes in the form of posting…
